In border protection, for January to June 2020, the Port was able to seize 23 shipments of illegal drugs amounting to an estimated value of Php 48.1 million, Php 1.3 million worth of illegaly imported meat products and watches, Php 2.5 million worth of illegal chinese medicines and Php 1.5 million of undeclared currency.

In her statement, District Collector Carmelita M. Talusan admitted that indeed the year is turning out to be very challenging especially as the COVID-19 pandemic has  affected all aspects of operation. The Port is encouraging stakeholders to use online filing system to promote trade facilitation and contactless transactions

The Port of NAIA remains in full support to BOC Commissioner Rey Leonardo B. Guerrero’s advocacy in pursuing the Bureau’s mandates and provide much needed revenues to support government projects and initiatives amidst COVID-19.
