Police arrest suspect in April northeast Calgary bank robbery

Police have arrested a man believed to be a suspect in an April 1 bank robbery in northeast Calgary.

A man covering his face with a white towel entered the Bank of Montreal at 3690 Westwinds Dr. N.E. around 2 p.m. on April 1, demanding money from the bank while making threats to staff and customers.

The man left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money and was seen entering a taxi.

No one was injured during the robbery.

The following day,

police released a CCTV image of the man

, asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect.

On Thursday, officers arrested Navado Roy Wood, 30. He faces one charge for robbery of a financial institution and another for using a disguise with intent.

Wood will next appear in court Aug. 21.
