MedTecs Donates 24k Face Masks to Customs

In support to the Bureau of Customs’ mandate on border protection, trade facilitation and revenue collection, the Bureau today, April 28, 2020 received 24,000 pieces of face masks donated by the MedTecs International Corporation Ltd represented by Ms. Via E. Cataquis, Vice President – Local Sales and Marketing, at the MedTecs office in Makati City.

The face masks were received by Administrative Service Director Michael Fermin with Port of Limay Collector Miko Vargas and General Services Division Chief Raquel De Jesus. The donation was done amidst the Coronavirus Disease-2019 (COVID-19) scare which has disrupted the global supply of Personal Protective Equipment, medical supplies, among others.

Agencies like the Bureau of Customs interact daily with inbound travelers, and some of whom may be carriers of the virus. For this reason, the BOC frontliners shall stay protected to help stem the local transmission of COVID-19.

In behalf of the Bureau of Customs, Director Fermin expressed his gratitude to the noble cause of the MedTecs International Corporation Ltd. The BOC ensures its partners that it will remain steadfast and committed in its mandate to facilitate delivery of Personal Protective Equipment, medical supplies and health devices across the country.
