No plan to freeze evictions, Kenney says

Alberta has no plans as of yet to freeze evictions during the COVID-19 pandemic, Premier Jason Kenney says.

In a news conference Monday, Kenney urged landlords to work with tenants as thousands suffer virus-related losses of income, but stressed that property owners must be allowed to protect themselves from law breakers and people who habitually fail to pay rent.

2020 Tokyo Olympics postponed

The 2020 Tokyo Olympics are being postponed, according to International Olympic Committee member Dick Pound.

Pound told USA Today on Monday that the Games likely will be pushed back to 2021 due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
